Mrs. Katie May Sumter

Mrs. Katie May Morria Sumter, 96, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away, Dec. 3rd, 1969. Her last few years were spent in a Nursing Home in Galesburg, Il.

On Jan. 19, 1894 she was united to the Christian Church at Chambersburg, Ill. She was married to William Sumter August 26, 1897, who passed away April 24, 1945. To this union two children were born, Edna Ruhl of Galesburg and Earl Sumter of Quincy. They also raised their grandson, Melvin Sumter, whose mother passed away in childbirth.

They lived on a farm east of Liberty until they moved to Macomb.
